Audition Notice: "GODSPELL" to be performed at Freemasons' Hall Auditorium

AUDITION NOTICE

"GODSPELL" STAGE MUSICAL

The Stage Actors' Workshop will hold auditions for "Godspell" the musical by Stephen Schwartz and John-Michael Tebelak on Sunday, January 18, at 3 pm, and Monday January 19, at 7 pm, and Tuesday, January 20, at 7 pm. Auditions for and performances of the musical will be held at The Freemason Hall Theater, 525 N. Illinois St. in Indianapolis, 46204. The show requires five men and five women, ages 18 years old and older. Those auditioning should bring a song and be prepared to perform some basic dance steps. A keyboard player is also needed. The play will be co-directed by Dick Carlson and Bob Rini. Performances will be April 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, & 12, 2009. Some staff positions are available. Synopsis: The structure of the musical is that of a series of parables, taken primarily from the Gospel of Matthew. These are then interspersed with a variety of modern music set primarily to lyrics from traditional hymns, with the passion of Christ portrayed near the end of the performance.

The Stage Actors Workshop is a non-profit community theater company comprised of talented people who do theater for the love of it. Their mission is to bring to the Indianapolis public shows that are entertaining and educational at a cost that will not break the family budget.
